Where can I get crochet hooks cheap?

We are taking crochet hooks and yarn to a small village in Mexico and I need to find the best price to buy them. Any suggestions?

You may want to consider purchasing the hooks %26amp; yarn while in Mexico -- did you know Susan Bates, a crochet hook maker, has one of their manufacturing plants there? You may get a better deal there AND not need to transport them.





Otherwise, check ebay %26amp; amazon. If you have a Rag Shop near you, check with them too -- they filed for bankruptcy and have been offering coupons of 25% -- 40% off your entire purchase.

Reply:Ebay is a really good option. Allows you to bid on some. You could also buy them without bidding too.
Reply:Yard sales and thrift shops often have a lot of hooks, needles and yarn. Call some of the thrift shops and ask if they have what you're looking for. Some will have a lot of craft supplies and others don't.
Reply:(1) Try eBay and look for huge lots. You see people sometimes selling as many as 50 hooks at once. A lot of crocheters won't bid on the lots because they're looking for specific brands or sizes.


(2) For Knit Out and Crochet Too events, we write directly to the manufacturers and request donations. This has worked also for Girl Scout badges where we're teaching a group. if it's a charity thing, you may get donations from the manufacturer as long as you properly give them the credit for their generosity.
Reply:Y not just make ur own. any stiff wire, or knotch in a dowel will work in a pinch and with practice and experimentation you'll have what U need
Reply:Wal-mart cause that's where I get all of mine and it's only about $5 for a pack of 6 (if that's what you consider cheap).

Look a garage sales........ also antique stores.


Discount stores are also a good source.

Also ask around. People may givce them to you since you doing something nice for others.
