Hooks in Subversion?
How do I get the subversion post-commit hook to work in Windows. I've created a post-commit.bat but the script just isn't getting called. Any ideas?

2) Perhaps the script is being called, but its behaviour is not what you expect. Add some tracing code to the script and see what happens. Did you perhaps intend to write a pre-commit script?

Condensor Mic that hooks up to the computer? (AKG Perception etc.)?
I'm a rapper, and have lots of singers come by too. I'm looking for a new microphone because the one I have is a garbage average computer mic. I need a condenser to start recording music.
My problem is that I need a mic to hook up to an average PC. I have a Dell, and I know they have USB Condenser mics out there, but I heard the quality stinks. Is there a way to connect an AKG Perception 100 Large-Diaphragm Condenser mic to my computer.
I don't know much about pre-amps at all, or interfaces and all that stuff. Can someone guide me through step by step on what mic would suit my needs. I was looking at the AKG and it looks great, but how would I hook that up to my computer? HELP I'm lost.

im not so sure what its called, so sorry, you will have to do this research on your own, but ill tell you what i know: depending on the type of mic it is there are different ways. if its usb, then plug it into the usb, if its mic jack, plug it into a mic jack, if its like a plug that was 3 little prongs or so inside, then thats your problem, theres a way to do it, but im not exactly sure how. theres prob something out there that converts it to a usb, or mic jack, but in my school theres this thing they have, and its for a guitar, where the amp plug goes into a thing that converts it to a usb, and it acts like a foot pedal, (shown here: http://www.guitarcenter.com/ToneWorks-AX... ) but yeah, theres deff something like that out there.

I have one, it's not that expensive and comes in handy with toothy fish like bluefish and pike. The long reach helps you get down in and retrieve the hook( it's like little pliers. Most of the time it comes right out w/o harming the fish so yeah, stick one in the bottom of your tackle box for those times when you might say," I wish I had that thingy!". Good luck

My opinion is Gamakatsu 3/0 extra wide gap. This has always been my normal hook. When you start getting into jerk baits like flukes and others similiar, I usually move to a 4/0, same brand and gap.
Reply:There's nothing wrong with Mustad or Eagle Claw, but personally I prefer either Gamakatsu, Matzuo, or VMC wide gap hooks. Lately I've been using the VMC Fast-Grip Wide-Gaps. They have a multi-stage barb that I think not only sets and holds better, it also does less harm to the fish.

My friends consist mainly guys and most of them have hooked-up or want to hook-up with my sister. It annoys me because when I am around them, I feel very awkward. If it's ok with the building, build planter boxes. fill the pots or boxes with hanging basket mix[ I added 1/3 composted manure because I go organic]. Cover the soil around the base of the plants with some type of mulch to keep the wind and sun from the soil. Plant something that likes water in your smallest pot.. when it wilts, water. If you face east you can grow almost anything. If you face south or west, you may want to stick to hot sun lovers, like marigolds, portulaca, ornamental grasses, sedums, hens n chicks, cacti, geraniums, rosemary[take in for winter], sage, thymes of all sorts, oregano, basil, tomatoes, peppers, and others. Basically anything from a mediterranean, or semidesert climate. If you face north then you need shade lovers. Things like impatiens, coleus, most houseplants, mints of all kinds, begonias, ferns, parsley, violets, violas and pansies, browallia, and anything else your nursery says will grow in shade in your area.

In honesty, Can any one really tell me just how good or bad the Hercules Hooks are.?
I have a home that you really can't hang things on the wall, due to the fact that the house is old and the drywall is cheap and the the studs is'nt 16" center, I am doing more damage to my walls trying to find a stud, thinking I found one then hanging something only for it to come crashing down and making a bigger hole then I stared out with... and forget the drywall plugs, so I am hopeing the Hercules Hooks are as has good as they seem to be. So can anyone please tell me more about them and just how good or bad they are. Thanks so much.

Reply:I have a set of the Hercules Hooks. Honestly, I think they work great. I use them for things like pictures and small wall hangings. I have found though that their threshold is not quite as much as the proclaim it to be. They work fantastically with about 15-20lbs of weight, go too much beyond that and they kinda wimp out. But if picture frames and smaller items are what you have to hang I would highly recommend them! Good Luck!

I don't like Billy Mays but I do think Hercules Hooks are a good idea. I've heard that there are other brands so I searched and found www.drywallhooks.com. They sell Heavy Duty Wall Hangers and actually claim they were the first to invent them. If thats the case it makes me not like him even more. Anyone tried them? Is there any difference? I'd like to try them because they have better prices and NO BILLY!

Note that I say "with a clip that hooks onto the end of a store's cart." There are plenty of carts being sold that are otherwise good, but I want one with the clip on it. The store carts (Kroger, Wal-Mart, etc.) where I live don't have the clips on them.

What is a board called that has wrestling weight classes on it and has hooks you can put kids' names on?
I am a new wrestling coach and I have seen this board that has a list of weight classes across the top organized into columns. It then has hooks where you can place wrestlers names (on small tags). We want to use it as a visual way to organize our wrestlers into weight classes for challenge matchs/ to separate varsity from JV wrestlers. I could probably make one out of wood and nails but I was wondering where you could buy them or what they're called. Any help would be appreciated.

My friend tells me that instead of bridge pins, his guitar, which I presume is quite old, has hooks for the strings. Do you need special strings to restring this guitar, how does it work?

My guess is, without knowing the brand of guitar - it's just a guess, you'll just use standard strings. You simply put the strings through the notch until the end is taut against the bridge.

However, it sounds as though you may have some technique problems that have let to a repetitive stress injury like carpal tunnel. It could be that you are holding your hooks in a death grip or working too long at a stretch. You may want to try wearing a wrist splint at night, or something like Hand-Eze (R) gloves which are made out of lycra. I find that these help me when I knit too long at a stretch or spend too much time on the computer.
Yes, you'll feel a repetitive stress injury just below the thumb, it's in the tendons of the muscles that help control your thumb and the nerves coming through the bones of your wrists. If this is as serious a problem as you are making this sound, then you really need to see your doctor. Hand-Eze gloves may help ease the pain, as will ergonomic hooks, and wearing a wrist splint at night, but you can surely be developing arthritis and CTS that will require surgery.

If those things don't work though, you really should see a doctor and possibly a specialist, to see what your options are and make sure you've tried all the simpler things you can.
It's possible that's not what you have, but as I said repetitive strain injuries and carpal tunnel syndrome are common problems for those who do things involving a lot of identical "repetitive motions".

Reply:Have you tried the arthritis gloves? They are supposed to help. Look on the notions counters of fabric stores for these. They cover mostly just the hands. My husband has a pair to wear for his fine leather carving and other things.

Try the ergonomic crochet hook. It is nice because the actual hook interchangeable so it has a bunch of sizes.

I'm not sure about the hooks on the side, are they used to hook to the bridle, this doesn't look quite right to me when I put it in his mouth, and he's playing with it a lot, also how tight should it be is it still a 3 wrinkle rule with this type of bit.

How can I get used to bras with much support and 4 hooks in the back?
I'm 13 and a C cup thoug I'm thin. Mom makes me wear bras like this at http://www.anita.com/de/en/0,1,104,1478,... for support. I dont like, but love her and obey. They make me sweat when it's hot and arent easy to put on, because of their 4 hooks. But my Dr told us those bras are very good for my health, so I'm really stuck.

It'll take some time for you to get used to them (maybe several weeks to a few months) but they are very good for you. The support causes you to not hurt your lower back and seeing that you are thin you may have some lower back pain despite the fact that you have a supportive bra. Also you're probably still growing so you need as much support as possible at this time. Don't worry about it too much, soon you'll be very comfortable with your body and what you wear. :-)

They not only save your back but also helps stop your boobs "bouncing" whenever you move. As you get older you will become more experienced with finding bra's that you like. BTW: If you are embarassed about wearing a "granny bra" when you change at school, I used to keep a more... atrractive...spare bra just for the changing times. I'd then change into the granny one in the toilet cubicle. It's a lot of work ( I kept the extra bra secret from my mother) but I understand if you might feel embarassed by your underwear

Can I anchor a bookshelf to the wall with wire and hooks? It's glass/chrome and I can't use brackets.
I have a couple of 6ft shelves to anchor to a wall. Unfortunately, I can't use the standard "L" brackets and screws. One of the shelves is chrome and glass. Also, the molding at the base of the wall prevents the shelves from being flush with the wall. So I need an alternative. I was thinking wiring the shelves to eye hooks in the wall. Does that seem reasonable?

What is the best way to keep liver on your catfish hooks, besides pantyhose?
I hate using pantyhose to keep liver on, it's a pain! I use treble hooks occasionally, but they tend to end up stuck more times than not. So anybody have any original ideas? I personally have lost sleep to this dilemma.

it's like a very fine rubber line but breaks easily so you don't need scissors. wrap it around the bait and hook and because it stretches it will hold it in place. i use it on salmon and steehead roe as well as ghost shrimp. it takes netting right out of the equation.

Reply:We don't really have much catfish where I'm from, but my dad has this trick for keeping soft bait on for trout. You take your treble hook and take the spring from a ball point pen and wrap it around the shaft of the hook. That way you can hold soft baits.
Reply:I like to take sponge cut it into about 3/4 inch pieces and soak them in the liver over night.This works good most of the time and when the liver washes out of the sponge you just tear it off and put new on.I have used liver flavored dog food and it worked pretty good also.Buy the canned food with chunks in it.

"surf" the web for Salmon or Steelhead egg (roe) sacks and am sure you'll find a site that explains how ta' tie them up. Very simple procedure, also material comes in different colors. Ha', I ain't guaranteein' you'll find the color of liver though, just improvise ; ) ... Ya' might also consider tyin' up a bunch of them, puttin' them under ice, so come ready to rig up they be right there...

Reply:I like to take sponge cut it into about 3/4 inch pieces and soak them in the liver over night.This works good most of the time and when the liver washes out of the sponge you just tear it off and put new on.I have used liver flavored dog food and it worked pretty good also.Buy the canned food with chunks in it.

You may need to use wire and screw-in hooks in the walls and ceiling to give additional support to the pipes and shelves.

Not sure what you mean by size chart but here is my tidbit. 00,0,1,2,3,4 you can use for very fine baby yarns. 5,6,7.8.9 use for size 10 cotton (commonly called bedspread cotton), 10, 11, 12 use for size 30 thread. 13,14, 15, 16 use with tattting cottons #60 or #80. i have a weber carb with one port for the vaccum advance. but my vaccum advance unit on the distribitor has two ports. which one hooks to carb. and do i plug the other port or hook it to the intake so it has vaccum.

You will need a manual vacumm hand pump to test wich one of the 2 ports on your distributor is the advance and wich one is the retard.
Please be very carefull when doing the proposed procedure on your car. Always apply the hand brake and make sure your car won't move. If your car is STD then put it on Neutral. If your car is Automatic Trans. type leave it on Parking. Safety first !!!
Start your car and let it idle by 5 mins or so.
Then attacht the vaccum pump to one port and apply some vaccum. If your car accelerates thats the advance. If by the opposite it seems to slow or even stall, thats the retard.
Connect the advance port to the carburator vaccum advance.
You can leve the other one open of cover it with any rubber just to prevent dirt.

I have had problems with Large Mouth Bass and Rainbow Trout spitting/ throwing the hooks the line tension is down and no matter how fast I try to real I can't bring it up. I set the hook when it is in the green section. Tried a different rod and lowering the weight of the line but still not having any luck.

When using 130 pound mono, it's better to crimp it. Go to your local tackle shop and tell them you need crimps and a crimping tool for the size line you use. Make sure they show you how to use it or the crimps may slip or cut your line.

How can I hang my mountain bike from my garage ceiling with hooks?
Every time I try to install the hooks, they strip right out of the ceiling. I am trying to find some type of ceiling stud to screw into, but since I have to mount two hooks for each bike (I am trying to mount two bikes), I am unsure how to do this. Please let me know if you have experienced this and found a solution. I greatly appreciate the help.

Well it sounds like you are putting the hooks into a drywall ceiling, am i right? if so there are multiple things to secure things in drywall at any hardware store, anchors and such. now depending on the thickness of the drywall, this also may not work, then you need to get yourself a stud finder, find either the floor joists or ceiling rafters, depending on what is above your garage, find them. Then get a 2x4 one should be more than enough, so you can cut it in half or to length of each outside edge of your joist and screw those 2 pieces how ever far apart into the joist. then put your hooks into the 2x4. hope i explained that enough that you get what I'm saying and that it helps.

No problem, simply drill the smallest hole needed (1mm) as you are only drilling through 3mm thick PVC into the hollow frame, then screw in the hooks for your net wire or rod. You can buy 'stick on' hooks for net rods, but in hot weather the glue can become soft and they fall off quite regularly. So screwing in hooks are better and permanent.

Reply:DO NOT drill or screw into a vinyl window!!!! Any screws or fasteners that penetrate the vinyl will eventually work loose or break out if bearing any weight. You also stand the chance of damaging the mechanisims that aid in raising the sashs. Might I suggest attaching the curtains to the opening. You`ll probably find this a much more solid and stable base for attachment.
Reply:One way of fixing nets without damaging the frame is to use velcro. Stick self adhesive velcro tape to the frame and sew velcro tape to the nets. If you don't want to use tape, you can buy squares, dots and other shapes.

Looking for a 55gal portable filtration unit forswimming pool. Hooks up to 150gpm pump, 2" suction and dischge
This filter uses regular pool cleaning 2" hoses and hooks up to the pole and vacuum head. You use a gas or electric pump along with this 55 gal drum looking thing. The one I have seen before (can't remember where for the life of me) is a bright blue and was probably made out of heavy plastic. It will have a 2" suction inlet in front and a 2" discharge outlet in the back. Will also have some type of filtering system inside, maybe using cartridges. I'll be grateful for any help I can get. John

What's the best glue to stick plastic hooks to ceramic tiles.?
The tiles have a slightly raised pattern so they are not smooth. The self-adhesive hooks I've tried won't work and neither will superglue.

I agree with the silicone. make sure the tile is clean before applying. I like to use denatured alcohol as it cleans and dries quickly. Tape the hooks to the wall while the silicone cures. This insures a good bond and will keep them in place while the silicone drys. Clean up any squish out while it is wet.

you know those tasers but they shoot at you with hooks with wires attached to them. it literally hooks into your body and now the user gets to shock the guy at will with electricity.

The "hooks" are a quarter of an inch long and straight. They barely go into the skin. The barbs are needed because they are connected to wires that lead back to the Taser. The wire conducts the electrical shock from the Taser to the target's body. The wire is 16 to 21 feet long (depending on which cartridge you carry) and make it possible to use the Taser to subdue a suspect from a safe distance. Without the barbs and the wire the Taser would not be a distance weapon which is part of it appeal to law enforcement.
Agencies that have began to carry the Taser have actually reported a decrease in injuries to suspects and officers. This is because even though the shock delivered by a Taser is unpleasant it allows the officers to take someone into custody quickly and without much of a struggle. This means that their is not much of a fight and less chance of someone getting hurt.
I have been Tasered six or seven times now and used my Taser in the field to take a resisting suspect into custody. I am still very much alive and none of my resisting suspects suffered any real injuries.

In regards to potential injury, getting hit with a baton would cause substantially more damage, like bruising or broken bones. Pepper Spray has a lasting effect of about 45 minutes.......The pain caused by a TASER stops immediately once the exposure is terminated. The injury from the hooks equates to a bee sting........so no.......I do not think that the TASERs are wrong.....
The only reason that I would think that using the TASER is wrong is by the officer who has become "TASER dependent" and is always reluctant to go "hands on".............

Reply:Being shot with a taser is very uncomfortable, but it lasts 5 seconds and is over, with a substantial reduction in injuries. As far as the barbs, they are tiny, and I never had anyone complain. They barely penetrate the skin.
Statistically, if a suspect and officer are in a physical struggle, 55% of the time the suspect is injured, and 45% of the time the officer is injured. With a baton, there is a better than 80% chance the suspect will be injured.
With the taser, the suspect is only injured 2% of the time, and the officer is not injured. These injuries are rarely from the taser itself, they are from the fall.
They are not perfect, but they are the best tool I've seen since I began this job in 1991.
Reply:How much electricity goes through them, cuz there are a lot of dangers with electricity. Sure it may not harm most people, or show up just by looking but they are there. People with weak hearts are at danger, electric shock can cause paralysis and scar nervous tissues, not to mention the convulsions can hurt you. Also it gives cops a false sense of safety in the fact that they think they can use it with no risks. Which means they are more likely to use a taser in a situation that doesn't require force. I can't wait until somebody dies from a taser, then they'll have to rethink this.
Reply:OK, lets just stop fighting crime altogether. Did you know that the only place in this country that you are guaranteed medical treatment, food, and shelter even if you are broke is in a state county or federal jail/prison. Law enforcement does not stop on the door step to the jail, it goes on even more inside. The average person has an image in their Head about jail/prison and they don't want to ever go to those places but the people that go there on a regular schedule know that it ain't half bad. I know that this is a little (a lot) off topic but I get so mad when the people that break the laws are the ones getting the better treatment. Ohio just got sued for the menu in state prisons and now has to change it and that will eventually work its way into county jails and that means that the food will cost more and that means more tax money on criminals.
Reply:The "hooks" you describe are just slight curves at the end of the probes that ensure that the probes attach to the skin and or clothing of the subject. They don't dig in or penetrate the outer skin layer.
I can't say anything more that what has already been said by other Officers on this post about the Taser. It's an effective tool for gaining compliance from an uncooperative subject. The alternatives are much more painful and cause a hell of a lot more damage.

Reply:First of all, a taser is a gun that fires the hooks. A stun gun is the "normal taser" I think you are talking about.
Here is the calculus for tasers:
Balancing the officer's need for something other than a regular gun v. not having the officer be trigger happy with their taser when they could use other methods (spray, physical restraint, etc.).

As a matter of fact, just to please all the taser haters here on Y!A, I've stopped carrying my taser.
Now, when I'm faced with a lot of those scenarios where I would have deployed my taser, I'll be using my baton and causing injury, possibly permanent injury, not just pain.
For the very few instances when my taser could have saved my life, and theirs, I'll be using 230 grain .45 caliber bullets at 985 FPS to do my defending.
Better than a 5 second taser hit?
Reply:During my last year of patrol, before I went into administration, I was in a brutal fight with a perp. I used pepper spray on him but it did not faze him. I literately had to beat the man into the ground with my Asp Baton. I wound up with a split lip, loose teeth, a gash on my head that required stitches, bruises and contusions, and I was off work for two days. My perp had a broken hand, three fractured ribs, a fractured shin, cuts, bruises, and contusions. He spent a couple night in the hospital and two years in prison.
All of that, Nickle, could have been avoided with a single shot from a Tazer. Neither of us would have been hurt. He probably would not have gone to prison. I bet if you could ask him now, if he could re-live the incident, for a choice between the beating and jail time or a jolt from the Tazer. He'd beg for that Tazer.
Reply:A taser gun does shoot 2 small darts that are attached to fine wires. These darts and wires carry the electrical charge to the body of the person shot with it. The idea is that the operator of the taser gun is able to control the person from a safe distant. The "hooks" are a quarter of an inch long and straight. They barely go into the skin. The barbs are needed because they are connected to wires that lead back to the Taser. The wire conducts the electrical shock from the Taser to the target's body. The wire is 16 to 21 feet long (depending on which cartridge you carry) and make it possible to use the Taser to subdue a suspect from a safe distance. Without the barbs and the wire the Taser would not be a distance weapon which is part of it appeal to law enforcement.
Agencies that have began to carry the Taser have actually reported a decrease in injuries to suspects and officers. This is because even though the shock delivered by a Taser is unpleasant it allows the officers to take someone into custody quickly and without much of a struggle. This means that their is not much of a fight and less chance of someone getting hurt.
I have been Tasered six or seven times now and used my Taser in the field to take a resisting suspect into custody. I am still very much alive and none of my resisting suspects suffered any real injuries.

In regards to potential injury, getting hit with a baton would cause substantially more damage, like bruising or broken bones. Pepper Spray has a lasting effect of about 45 minutes.......The pain caused by a TASER stops immediately once the exposure is terminated. The injury from the hooks equates to a bee sting........so no.......I do not think that the TASERs are wrong.....
The only reason that I would think that using the TASER is wrong is by the officer who has become "TASER dependent" and is always reluctant to go "hands on".............

Reply:Being shot with a taser is very uncomfortable, but it lasts 5 seconds and is over, with a substantial reduction in injuries. As far as the barbs, they are tiny, and I never had anyone complain. They barely penetrate the skin.
Statistically, if a suspect and officer are in a physical struggle, 55% of the time the suspect is injured, and 45% of the time the officer is injured. With a baton, there is a better than 80% chance the suspect will be injured.
With the taser, the suspect is only injured 2% of the time, and the officer is not injured. These injuries are rarely from the taser itself, they are from the fall.
They are not perfect, but they are the best tool I've seen since I began this job in 1991.
Reply:How much electricity goes through them, cuz there are a lot of dangers with electricity. Sure it may not harm most people, or show up just by looking but they are there. People with weak hearts are at danger, electric shock can cause paralysis and scar nervous tissues, not to mention the convulsions can hurt you. Also it gives cops a false sense of safety in the fact that they think they can use it with no risks. Which means they are more likely to use a taser in a situation that doesn't require force. I can't wait until somebody dies from a taser, then they'll have to rethink this.

Did you know that the only place in this country that you are guaranteed medical treatment, food, and shelter even if you are broke is in a state county or federal jail/prison. Law enforcement does not stop on the door step to the jail, it goes on even more inside. The average person has an image in their Head about jail/prison and they don't want to ever go to those places but the people that go there on a regular schedule know that it ain't half bad. I know that this is a little (a lot) off topic but I get so mad when the people that break the laws are the ones getting the better treatment. Ohio just got sued for the menu in state prisons and now has to change it and that will eventually work its way into county jails and that means that the food will cost more and that means more tax money on criminals.
Reply:The "hooks" you describe are just slight curves at the end of the probes that ensure that the probes attach to the skin and or clothing of the subject. They don't dig in or penetrate the outer skin layer.
I can't say anything more that what has already been said by other Officers on this post about the Taser. It's an effective tool for gaining compliance from an uncooperative subject. The alternatives are much more painful and cause a hell of a lot more damage.

Reply:First of all, a taser is a gun that fires the hooks. A stun gun is the "normal taser" I think you are talking about.
Here is the calculus for tasers:
Balancing the officer's need for something other than a regular gun v. not having the officer be trigger happy with their taser when they could use other methods (spray, physical restraint, etc.).

As a matter of fact, just to please all the taser haters here on Y!A, I've stopped carrying my taser.
Now, when I'm faced with a lot of those scenarios where I would have deployed my taser, I'll be using my baton and causing injury, possibly permanent injury, not just pain.
For the very few instances when my taser could have saved my life, and theirs, I'll be using 230 grain .45 caliber bullets at 985 FPS to do my defending.

I literately had to beat the man into the ground with my Asp Baton. My perp had a broken hand, three fractured ribs, a fractured shin, cuts, bruises, and contusions. He spent a couple night in the hospital and two years in prison.
All of that, Nickle, could have been avoided with a single shot from a Tazer. Neither of us would have been hurt. He probably would not have gone to prison. I bet if you could ask him now, if he could re-live the incident, for a choice between the beating and jail time or a jolt from the Tazer. He'd beg for that Tazer.

I have a ton of dress pants that I wear to work with trouser hooks or the slide-in fasteners and I'm outgrowing all of them. Has anyone found a way to belly band them? I'm not big enough for maternity clothes, but want to be comfortable.

For a pine tree, what type of hooks, nails, screws can I use to insert into pine tree without damaging it?? Is there a type of metal I need to use? I want to put up clothes line and bird feeder attached to pines but don’t want to harm. Thanks!

Pine trees have a natural defense. They encase any foreign object in pitch if it is harming the tree.
You can really screw or nail just about anything you want into a pine tree without damaging it.
The main thing to remember is the way a tree grows. It adds a lay each year and if you have a screw, eye bolt or nail in the side of the tree eventually the item will be covered by the trees growth.
It is a good idea to have something that can be removed and put in a different place as the tree grows.
We have at least 25 to 30 pines on our lot and we haven't lost one yet to nails or screws in the side of the tree.

Reply:For the clothes line, I'd put an eye bolt through the tree, with washers and an adjustable nut so the bolt length can be increased as the tree grows.
You do not want anything girdling around the tree trunk, so just looping the clothesline around the trees is not a good solution for more than a weekend or so. Prolonged girdling loads will crush the phloem under the bark and cause major long term damage.
Birdfeeders are probably best attached to a branch well away from the clothesline. Those can simply be hung from a rope, or you can use a nut and bolt arrangement or just a good sized eye screw.
Reply:Any screw you put into the tree will affect it. The tree will grow around it. Pines are soft and grow fast. They also put out a lot of pollen. Why not get an in-ground system. Then you don't have to worry about the bird's doing their business while going to the feeder you want in the area too. Good luck!

Right now I am using a size 10 hook, but what does it do to your "creation" if you use the super thick hooks.. or needles??

Reply:When you use larger needles than recomended you get a knit/crocheted fabric with a loose drap and sort of a lacey look. I find that when using larger needles for example - I use 15's when 8's are recomended. it makes my work go alot faster, and way more flexible. You want to keep in mind that when you use a larger size when working from a pattern (when gauge is important) you'll want to adjust the number of stitches and rows so your end result is about the same size as the one from your pattern. You also need to keep in mind what kind of knitter you are; do you knit loosely? or do you knit tight? You can easily find out by knitting up a swatch of your yarn with the needle size recomended on the yarn label. If your swatch is smaller you knit tight and want to use a larger needle, if your swatch is larger than you knit loose and will want to use a smaller needle. I hope this helps.

Recently Lion Brand Yarn has been coming up with LOTS of bulky-yarn patterns, for size 50 needles (!), and I'm not sure what the crochet hook equivalent is called, but they do have one. In fact, when you start hitting the bulkier yarns, it's much better to size up your needles accordingly.
A word of advice: For anything above a size ten, I'd recommend wood, plastic, or bamboo needles...aluminum gets very hard on the hands at those sizes.

I would use a stainless steel screw because it's going to be exposed to the elements. That's what you use for decks, so you know that it will stand the test of time.
Reply:Why put anything into the tree? Take a longer rope and tie it all around the tree at the height you want and then remove it once a year. That way the rope will not have the tree grow around it, if you use a piece of rubber hose over the rope around the tree, it will not damage the tree but will let the tree grow. If you must have something driven in to the tree, a wood dowel will do the least amount of damage, use a dowel of the same specie as the tree and it will be absorbed eventually, with little or no damage to the tree.

Reply:You aren't going to hurt the tree with a couple of screws.
I would use a stainless steel screw because it's going to be exposed to the elements. That's what you use for decks, so you know that it will stand the test of time.
Reply:Why put anything into the tree? Take a longer rope and tie it all around the tree at the height you want and then remove it once a year. That way the rope will not have the tree grow around it, if you use a piece of rubber hose over the rope around the tree, it will not damage the tree but will let the tree grow. If you must have something driven in to the tree, a wood dowel will do the least amount of damage, use a dowel of the same specie as the tree and it will be absorbed eventually, with little or no damage to the tree.
Reply:You can really screw or nail just about anything you want into a pine tree without damaging it.
The main thing to remember is the way a tree grows. It adds a lay each year and if you have a screw, eye bolt or nail in the side of the tree eventually the item will be covered by the trees growth.
It is a good idea to have something that can be removed and put in a different place as the tree grows.

OKay so im totally new at all this! I wanna buy a guitar off my freind so i can start to get lessons! Well see, she has an amp and a guitar but she dont know where the cord is! Can u get a new cord that hooks up the the guitar and the amp! And where would you get it! Also aobut how much would it cost! PLease if u can help me! Thanks!

As for the conections don't worry they are all the same.

You can also try electronics or audio sections of big stores.
Radio Shack will have the plugs %26amp; wires to make one up;
if you know someone who can do it for you.
