Are there hangers/hooks made specifically to screw onto doors?

Our bathroom is fairly small and we would like to have some extra hooks for towels on the back of the door...are there specific ones made for doors so they are stable once you screw them on?

Are there hangers/hooks made specifically to screw onto doors?
If your doors are hollow instead of solid, you can change the screws that will hold any hooks you buy to the kind that have either the plastic expansion pieces that go in first, or an expander that spreads inside the hollow portion. It's not the clothing hook that's special, it's the screw that comes with an expander that's special. These are often provided with hooks since most hooks are installed in sheet rock walls in places where there may not be any beam to screw into.

The ones that work on sheet rock walls, also work on the hollow doors.

Another option is the 3M Commando hangars, which have an excellent adhesive to hold them in place.

Even hollow doors are built with a limited amount of solid framework and you may be able to screw into those.

I do not use the over-the-door hooks, although they are a viable option in some situations. I never had any difficulty getting the screws with the expanders to work just fine on my hollow doors.
Reply:look for the screws that open from the bottom once they go though. They will hold if you have a hollow door or are screwing into sheetrock alone
Reply:Some doors are hollow and if you try and screw anything into them, they won't be stable.

We have used hooks that you can find at places like Bed Bath %26amp; Beyond or Linens and Things or even Walmart and Target that hook over the door. These tend to work well and don't leave screw holes in the door.
Reply:Go to GOOGLE type in 3m hangers, plenty there, home depot, etc.
Reply:Yes. I assume you are talking about hollow doors? there is an aparatus that "balloons" once it s inside the door that keeps the hook stable and makes it better able to bear the weight of the towel without loosening up over time. There are also over-the-door-type hooks that do just as well but are not so attractive.
