Car dog carrier that hooks on the seat?

looking for a car seat that is like a basket and attaches to the seat with metal hooks. it is for small dogs to let them be able to see out the window better. they are fairly inexpensive about 20-40$ last i say it was in a magazine with misc things in it but cant seem to find it on the net at all. any help please!! its a christmas present.....

Reply:Petsmart has them but you need to make sure the dog will like being in it.


I bought one for mine, tried it and it was a good thing I was in the car--he could have choked because he jumped out.
Reply:I got one for my small dog at Petsmart. It is made by Outward Bound. However there are no metal hooks there are nylon straps that attach over and around the seat. I have put my pup in it since she was 12 weeks old, she is 16 months old now and never rides in the car without being in it. She really seems to like it.
Reply:It is a nice idea but the safest place for your dog to be is in a crate in the back seat.


If your dog isn't strapped in, and someone runs into your car, your dog may be thrown from the car or if the dog survives the dog will run away and be lost forever. At least with a crate there is a chance that the dog will be safe and not be running around loose.


They have these new crates that latch into a base in the back seat of the car. I have never had one so I don't know what they are like.
