Does nas have a weakness with his beats and hooks?

I love nas but he his beats besides illmatic aren't that great and he sucks at hooks. What you think? Should he still be considered GOAT with these weaknesses. Half of you on here think nas in the greatest and half of you have the same avator name "Escobar" LOL. He's def top 4 but not #1

Does nas have a weakness with his beats and hooks?
First and foremost, as long as people are unique and have opinions, there will never be a decided GOAT.

Anyway, to answer your question, yes. I don't think he's always had a good ear for beats. "Ether" for example; that song might as well have been an A Capella. Most of "Hip-Hop is Dead" had wack instrumentals as well. Personally, if the song doesn't sound good musically, then I don't care about how well constructed the verses are, I'm not listening to the song. Like I said, it might as well have been an A Capella...

As far as hooks go, I'm not sure. I can't really give any insight on that cuz I never really paid much attention to them. Could you give some examples???
Reply:him not be #1 is just your opinion

Tupac didnt have the best beats yet 75% of people on here consider him the GOAT

when im thinkin of greatest rappers, i dont consider who has the best beats, if that was the case then Young Joc would be one of the best rappers out (by that theory)

i do agree with you, Nas doesnt have great beat selection but i think overall skills %26amp; lyricism %26gt;%26gt;%26gt; beats %26amp; hooks
Reply:No, actually, some of his hooks are pretty meaningful. And really, he is a good enough rapper to take a bad beat and bring life to it ("Blunt Ashes", anyone?). Plus, his beats do not reflect his skills as an MC in general, that's the DJs fault.

Oh, and "Escobar" is one guy. He just keeps getting suspended and making the same name again.
