Can I anchor a bookshelf to the wall with wire and hooks? It's glass/chrome and I can't use brackets.

I have a couple of 6ft shelves to anchor to a wall. Unfortunately, I can't use the standard "L" brackets and screws. One of the shelves is chrome and glass. Also, the molding at the base of the wall prevents the shelves from being flush with the wall. So I need an alternative. I was thinking wiring the shelves to eye hooks in the wall. Does that seem reasonable?

it can be done just make sure you leave enough wire so you can level top to bottom, if possible lean the bookshelf into wall at top a little bit
