Hooks in Subversion?
How do I get the subversion post-commit hook to work in Windows. I've created a post-commit.bat but the script just isn't getting called. Any ideas?
Hooks in Subversion?
1) Make sure that the post-commit.bat file is in the hooks folder of your Subversion repository (on the server side). As yet, Subversion does not have client-side hook scripts.
2) Perhaps the script is being called, but its behaviour is not what you expect. Add some tracing code to the script and see what happens. Did you perhaps intend to write a pre-commit script?
Reply:That's pretty much it. make sure the script is in the right place (in your repository folder, in \hooks) and make sure that the user that the svn server runs as has read permissions on the script. you connect to your repository using svn:// something, right? not file:// ...

Maybe he thinks you're easy.
Reply:there's a slight chance but this guy sounds like a whore. why would you want to go out with someone if they hook up with their ex-es. that means that there's a bigger chance that he's gonna cheat on you.

Condensor Mic that hooks up to the computer? (AKG Perception etc.)?
I'm a rapper, and have lots of singers come by too. I'm looking for a new microphone because the one I have is a garbage average computer mic. I need a condenser to start recording music.
My problem is that I need a mic to hook up to an average PC. I have a Dell, and I know they have USB Condenser mics out there, but I heard the quality stinks. Is there a way to connect an AKG Perception 100 Large-Diaphragm Condenser mic to my computer.
I don't know much about pre-amps at all, or interfaces and all that stuff. Can someone guide me through step by step on what mic would suit my needs. I was looking at the AKG and it looks great, but how would I hook that up to my computer? HELP I'm lost.
Condensor Mic that hooks up to the computer? (AKG Perception etc.)?
im not so sure what its called, so sorry, you will have to do this research on your own, but ill tell you what i know: depending on the type of mic it is there are different ways. if its usb, then plug it into the usb, if its mic jack, plug it into a mic jack, if its like a plug that was 3 little prongs or so inside, then thats your problem, theres a way to do it, but im not exactly sure how. theres prob something out there that converts it to a usb, or mic jack, but in my school theres this thing they have, and its for a guitar, where the amp plug goes into a thing that converts it to a usb, and it acts like a foot pedal, (shown here: http://www.guitarcenter.com/ToneWorks-AX... ) but yeah, theres deff something like that out there.

Gun used to cut hooks swallowed by fish?
called the " hook gun". put the tool around fish hook and pull the trigger and it cuts the hook.
Gun used to cut hooks swallowed by fish?
Jodi,
I have one, it's not that expensive and comes in handy with toothy fish like bluefish and pike. The long reach helps you get down in and retrieve the hook( it's like little pliers. Most of the time it comes right out w/o harming the fish so yeah, stick one in the bottom of your tackle box for those times when you might say," I wish I had that thingy!". Good luck
-Duke
Reply:I hate to say this and I will be bashed for it but hooks dont just rust away!Yes they slowly disolve if they are bronze hooks or fine wire ones but it takes a long time for them to do this.
When the hook disolves enough to be broken off is when and only when it "disolves"!
In saltwater a bronze hooks disolves faster than in freshwater but it still takes time!
Take a spring float and push"rotate" eyelet of hook into the belly and remove hook with pair of hemo's or needle nose pliers!Or th e new hook cutter tool!
Reply:Or you can just not waste the money on buying that. Just cut the line. Hooks are inexpensive and will eventually dissolve in the fish or become dislodged. I wouldn't worry about it.

Hooks, gamakatsu, mustad, lazersharp eagle claw,?
i want to buy a worm hook so i can texas rig it (weedless) which hook brand should i buy, i need some sugestions like brand and ewg or someting
Hooks, gamakatsu, mustad, lazersharp eagle claw,?
My opinion is Gamakatsu 3/0 extra wide gap. This has always been my normal hook. When you start getting into jerk baits like flukes and others similiar, I usually move to a 4/0, same brand and gap.
Reply:There's nothing wrong with Mustad or Eagle Claw, but personally I prefer either Gamakatsu, Matzuo, or VMC wide gap hooks. Lately I've been using the VMC Fast-Grip Wide-Gaps. They have a multi-stage barb that I think not only sets and holds better, it also does less harm to the fish.
Reply:hi there when it comes down to hook choice it is very important do u want a long shaft short shaft barb or not thin wired or thick laser sharpened points etc etc now on the list u put i would go with mustad they are a very well made hook and strong now my other choice would be kamasan but i do not no if u get them over there and i think kamasan make the best hook for texas rigging good luck
tight lines
Reply:Gamakatzu 2/0 or 3/0 EWG here! Or Owner Offset in 2/0 or 3/0.
(I think Gamakatzu is one "sharp as sh_t" hook. They work very well.)
Reply:All make excellent hooks. It's all about personal perference. I like the sharpness of gamakatsu, unless if I'm using circle hooks, then mustad.
Reply:This is what I use.
http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores...
Reply:all the mentioned hooks can be texas rigged but I have preferred gammy hooks in a 3/0 wide bend.
Reply:Owner Gamakatsu lazersharp there all good just match your hook to the size of the worm.
Reply:Gamakatsu is the strongest sharpest hook out there i would go with it!!! 3/0
Reply:Gamakatsu is more expensive but a very high quality hook.
Reply:I use a 3/0 gamagatsu ewg offset shank worm hook for most of my texas rigging, unless it is for senkos. Then i use 4/0 gamagatsu ewg offset shank worm hook.
good luck!
Reply:gamakatsu 2/0 or 3/0 depending on the length of lizard/worm/tube,etc.
Reply:Mustad will be your cheapest option and I have not had enough problems to warrant the extra cost. Gamakatsu is a better hook but you will pay for that luxury.

Substituting Crochet Hooks?
There is a pattern using a size H crochet hook. The closest I have to that size is a size I hook - do you think it would be alright if I used the I hook? or will it come out weird?
Substituting Crochet Hooks?
There is a .5mm difference between the two needles. If you have a ruler handy look at it and you will see what the difference would be. Depending on what you are making you may want to check with your pattern and see what the difference is if you make it one size smaller.
Reply:Since the 'I' hook is slightly larger, your project will end up larger. Since I don't know what you are making I don't have just one answer. If it is an afghan or a scarf, no problem at all, it'll just end up larger. If you are making an article of clothing it might turn out loose or even to large, depending on what size you are making, and you might need to make the next size smaller. If you are making a small project, just tighten up your tension to keep to gauge.
Reply:Just acquire the same measurements for the I hook that is given for the H hook, and remember to maintain it throughout the project or if it is okay for your project to be 1/4 inch larger, all is well with the I hook.
Reply:The hook may be ok. You can always adjust how loose or tight you crochet. Follow the gauge guide that starts off most patterns.

My sister hooks-up with 95% of guy friends!!!?
My friends consist mainly guys and most of them have hooked-up or want to hook-up with my sister. It annoys me because when I am around them, I feel very awkward. I don't associate as much with the one's who have hooked-up with my sister and it bugs me. I don't know who to be mad at more, my sister or my guy friends or me for introducing them in the first place or should I even be mad at all? What should I do?
My sister hooks-up with 95% of guy friends!!!?
Tell your sister to stop being a wh@re and tell your so-called "friends" to stop disrespecting you.
Reply:Maybe they're just friends with you so that they can get to your easy sister.
Reply:dont introduce any more to your sister
Reply:your sister sounds like a whore, be mad at her.
Reply:i think your just jealous! its your fault there with your sis. if you really like someone, why would you recommend them to a slut!
Reply:Make sure that your sister knows how to and uses multiple type of protection and then let her know when and if she tries to hook up wiht someone you might be interested in.
Good luck!
Reply:Your sister sounds very promiscuous ...
Don't follow her example...
Reply:skank alert
Reply:Have a girl best friend that you can talk to and keep your guy friends to yourself if you don't like it when they hook up with your sis.
Reply:nothing
Reply:The first thing to do when you make a friend, is to ensure tht he really is intrested in you and not trying to make use of you to get through to your sister. Secondly, when you are dating your partner, ensure you dont bring him home, or get him introduced to your sister. And yes, you may not be able to do much if your sister is also into a seduction game with your boy friends - you will have to ensure, you dont invite any of ur friends in her presence.

How do I create a garden space on a 2nd floor apartment balcony? How do i put celing hooks up on the balcony?
What are your suggestions fro creating a garden on a small 2nd floor balcony? How do you put hanging hooks up into a cement balcony celing? What flowers/plants do you suggest?
How do I create a garden space on a 2nd floor apartment balcony? How do i put celing hooks up on the balcony?
The biggest things to know when balcony gardening are which direction you face.. and water loss is your biggest concern. Pots lose water quickly. Use as big a pot as you can. If it's ok with the building, build planter boxes. fill the pots or boxes with hanging basket mix[ I added 1/3 composted manure because I go organic]. Cover the soil around the base of the plants with some type of mulch to keep the wind and sun from the soil. Plant something that likes water in your smallest pot.. when it wilts, water. If you face east you can grow almost anything. If you face south or west, you may want to stick to hot sun lovers, like marigolds, portulaca, ornamental grasses, sedums, hens n chicks, cacti, geraniums, rosemary[take in for winter], sage, thymes of all sorts, oregano, basil, tomatoes, peppers, and others. Basically anything from a mediterranean, or semidesert climate. If you face north then you need shade lovers. Things like impatiens, coleus, most houseplants, mints of all kinds, begonias, ferns, parsley, violets, violas and pansies, browallia, and anything else your nursery says will grow in shade in your area.
Reply:Pots work well or you might consider hydroponics. Hydroponics should give you better results, but they are more work to maintain. As for the hooks you do need to check with the apt. complex and when they say no, maybe you can put up a wooden 2x4 somehow and then put your hooks into that. [2x4's up the sides along the wall and then a 2x4 on top?!]
Reply:Go to any hardware store and get concrete screws Well your there check out there garden center and they'll have something there for your garden.
Reply:I would check with your apt. complex first to see if it is ok to put holes in the ceiling. If it is concrete then you will have to use a drill bit made for concrete. As for plants... depends on where you live and what kind of sun exposure you have. If you just want flowers you will probably need to go with annuals (they die every year but the blooms are typically brighter and last longer) Perennials come up every year but dont last too long. I would go with some hanging baskets with flowers that are more viney so they will hang down. Sorry I cant be more help unless I know where you live.
Reply:Tomatoes are real easy in pots! Full size or cherry. So are herbs. Petunias will grow and hang down and look nice. Ferns look good hanging. Ornimental Grass might look good too. Just have fun with it! As for hooks, guess you'll have to have a concrete bit and drill holes for the hooks.

Which bra should I buy/ wear for low-cutting fress to enhance a 'push-up' effect? No 'hooks' in front prefer.
No hooks in front of the bra is preferred as the cutting is all the way down, 3 inches above the belly navel.

Anybody know where i can find a bra with a velcro do up instead of hooks?
I"m sick of blindly doing up my bra from the back with the hooks.
does anyone know where i can get a pushup, bra with a velcro do up in the back? ...or do i have to patent this myself?

In honesty, Can any one really tell me just how good or bad the Hercules Hooks are.?
I have a home that you really can't hang things on the wall, due to the fact that the house is old and the drywall is cheap and the the studs is'nt 16" center, I am doing more damage to my walls trying to find a stud, thinking I found one then hanging something only for it to come crashing down and making a bigger hole then I stared out with... and forget the drywall plugs, so I am hopeing the Hercules Hooks are as has good as they seem to be. So can anyone please tell me more about them and just how good or bad they are. Thanks so much.

Reader's Digest did a study on "As Seen on TV" gadgets. Their staff tested the hooks and hated them. Some said that they even damaged their walls.
Reply:I have a set of the Hercules Hooks. Honestly, I think they work great. I use them for things like pictures and small wall hangings. I have found though that their threshold is not quite as much as the proclaim it to be. They work fantastically with about 15-20lbs of weight, go too much beyond that and they kinda wimp out. But if picture frames and smaller items are what you have to hang I would highly recommend them! Good Luck!

I don't like Billy Mays but I do think Hercules Hooks are a good idea. I've heard that there are other brands so I searched and found www.drywallhooks.com. They sell Heavy Duty Wall Hangers and actually claim they were the first to invent them. If thats the case it makes me not like him even more. Anyone tried them? Is there any difference? I'd like to try them because they have better prices and NO BILLY!

I haven't personally tried them. I read a review in Better Homes and Gardens magazine that they didn't hold all the weight they claimed, that the part behind the wall came through and was visible. They definitely didn't recommend them.

Where can I buy the type of foldable shopping cart with a clip that hooks onto the end of a store's cart?
Note that I say "with a clip that hooks onto the end of a store's cart." There are plenty of carts being sold that are otherwise good, but I want one with the clip on it. The store carts (Kroger, Wal-Mart, etc.) where I live don't have the clips on them.
Where can I buy the type of foldable shopping cart with a clip that hooks onto the end of a store's cart?
Probably from a business supply store.

What is a board called that has wrestling weight classes on it and has hooks you can put kids' names on?
I am a new wrestling coach and I have seen this board that has a list of weight classes across the top organized into columns. It then has hooks where you can place wrestlers names (on small tags). We want to use it as a visual way to organize our wrestlers into weight classes for challenge matchs/ to separate varsity from JV wrestlers. I could probably make one out of wood and nails but I was wondering where you could buy them or what they're called. Any help would be appreciated.
What is a board called that has wrestling weight classes on it and has hooks you can put kids' names on?
I did a couple searches and found nothing. Sorry. But maybe call a local gym and ask them or an online store where you buy wrestling equipment. You can usually search their inventory, maybe youll find something.

I just bought this awesome Swiss Army tunic. What's with these metal hooks on the sides?
Is there, like, a Swiss Army rucksack system that hooks on there?
I just bought this awesome Swiss Army tunic. What's with these metal hooks on the sides?
Because the Swiss army never actually fights anyone they serve a dual purpose, and that is to carry the milk of their cows down the mountains to the chocolate factories.
The hooks are so they can carry more pails of milk.
Reply:They are for carrying scalps.
Reply:It really depends on the type of service the wearer performed in the tunic. Is it a field tunic or a dress tunic?
For example, if it is a basic field tunic, there are extra loops on the shoulders, arms, and sides to attach extra foliage/camo to if needed. If it is a dress or march tunic, the hooks could be for flag-carrying equipment.
So, there is really more than one answer to your question. The best thing I can tell you is to research the type of job the original wearer performed or search the garment for a tag to get a model number that may be researched.
Good Luck!

I need to help my friend replace his guitar strings, but he has hooks instead of bridge pins...?
My friend tells me that instead of bridge pins, his guitar, which I presume is quite old, has hooks for the strings. Do you need special strings to restring this guitar, how does it work?
I need to help my friend replace his guitar strings, but he has hooks instead of bridge pins...?
There are 2 types of guitar strings I'm aware of. One has a "bullet" end which works only on certain guitars. The other has the classic "ring".
My guess is, without knowing the brand of guitar - it's just a guess, you'll just use standard strings. You simply put the strings through the notch until the end is taut against the bridge.
If this doesn't help, amend the question including the model.
Reply:If it has a metal or wooden tailpiece like an old style Jazz guitar then you can just use regular strings and the "hooks" will allow the string to pass through but not the ball end. If its a super old school with a banjo style, then you are better off hanging it on the wall, or selling it to a museum.

Reply:It was made for "loop end" strings like a banjo - if you can't find those, you can use regular "ball end" strings - fit the hook in the loop where the ball is attached - or make a loop by threading the string through the ball.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me what are the best crochet hooks to use. My hands and wrist kill me even
after a few moments of crocheting. I use Susan bates hooks now and I have bought the soft sleeves to go over them and they do not work. Please help!! I love to crochet.

Try massaging and stretching your hands a few times a day ... it might help keep them from hurting so quickly well doing what you love.
Reply:Clover makes hooks with ergonomic handles which are wide and have a thumb rest. They look something like rug hooks. However, it sounds as though you may have some technique problems that have let to a repetitive stress injury like carpal tunnel. It could be that you are holding your hooks in a death grip or working too long at a stretch. You may want to try wearing a wrist splint at night, or something like Hand-Eze (R) gloves which are made out of lycra. I find that these help me when I knit too long at a stretch or spend too much time on the computer.
Yes, you'll feel a repetitive stress injury just below the thumb, it's in the tendons of the muscles that help control your thumb and the nerves coming through the bones of your wrists. If this is as serious a problem as you are making this sound, then you really need to see your doctor. Hand-Eze gloves may help ease the pain, as will ergonomic hooks, and wearing a wrist splint at night, but you can surely be developing arthritis and CTS that will require surgery.
Reply:I use hand-eze goves and you wouldn't believe how well they work. You might need ibuprofen at first along with the gloves. They sell the gloves in drugstores.
I had weakness along with the pain, and it turned out I had carpal tunnel syndrome, caused by folding my wrists over while I sleep. A wrist brace, also available at the drugstore, worn at night, stops me from bending my wrist while I sleep and made the pain go away in a few weeks.

Reply:Carpal tunnel syndrome is nothing to play around with!
Once it gets established, it may never go away (even with surgery).
If that's what you have (and it's fairly common), you should read up on it. Then try the things recommended (braces, special gloves, larger handles, exercises), but most importantly DON'T do the motions which accompany the pain for long stretches of time... this is not something you can just get through by ignoring the pain, and you may need a period of rest and inactivity for those motions to heal.
If those things don't work though, you really should see a doctor and possibly a specialist, to see what your options are and make sure you've tried all the simpler things you can.
It's possible that's not what you have, but as I said repetitive strain injuries and carpal tunnel syndrome are common problems for those who do things involving a lot of identical "repetitive motions".

Reply:Have you tried the arthritis gloves? They are supposed to help. Look on the notions counters of fabric stores for these. They cover mostly just the hands. My husband has a pair to wear for his fine leather carving and other things.
Reply:i think that your problem is probably how you hold the hook, especially since the pain starts right away, and not after a while. This means that it is not from your hands getting tired. Try the ergonomic crochet hook. It is nice because the actual hook interchangeable so it has a bunch of sizes.

You could also try wooden hooks. They are actually more forgiving than plastic hooks and recommended for people with arthritis. Susan Bates is not the best quality.
Reply:I have been crocheting for over 50 years and always used Boye hooks. Recently though I switched to Clover Soft Touch hooks and my hands love them. JMF
